Emmalina Glinskis
Emmalina Glinskis is the Head of Public Sector Partnerships working to deliver Floodbase's near-real time flood data to diverse users and stakeholders, translating innovative science and products to operational risk transfer and emergency response tools worldwide. She has worked directly with large humanitarian institutions and agencies from the UN, FEMA, World Bank, and USAID on projects and programs ranging from designing smallholder flood insurance pilots to updating national emergency response systems.
After receiving a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from Columbia University, she pursued further ecological research in Antarctica and India, where she completed a Fulbright Research Award focusing on landscape resilience for smallholder rain-fed coffee agroforestry systems.
Most recently, she completed a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley where she conducted research on innovative financing mechanisms for large scale resilient infrastructure for urban coastal cities in the United States and insurance-based incentives for city-wide investments in risk reduction. She is currently focused on how to unlock and scale innovative forms of inclusive and community-based insurance through Floodbase’s parametric products in global emerging markets and vulnerable communities in the United States.
