Dr. Upmanu Lall
Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering, Columbia University.
Dr. Upmanu Lall is the Director of the Columbia Water Center, the Alan and Carol Silberstein Professor of Engineering, and chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University.
His current research covers three major initiatives that are developed through the Columbia Water Center: Global Water Sustainability, Global Flood Initiative, and America's Water. He is a systems thinker with a range of intellectual contributions in hydroclimatology, data science, nonlinear dynamics, and water resources.
He has been published widely in academic journals, and is the editor-in-chief of Water Security.
