Afolarin Lawal
Remote Sensing Analyst
Afolarin Lawal is a Remote Sensing Analyst at Floodbase. He works on the analysis of images from active and passive sensors to identify and highlight areas and populations impacted by flooding. He has a Master's degree in Geospatial Information Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the University of Lagos. He has previously worked as a Remote Sensing Analyst for the NASA Harvest Research team where his focus was on processing and analyzing satellite images over agricultural sites for crop yield assessment or prediction. His previous research was estimating prevent plant acres in South Dakota due to the 2019 flooding using a remote sensing approach.
